The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is the U.S. government’s signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. Nearly 1 in 3 Africans are between the ages of 10 and 24, and approximately 60 percent of Africa’s total population is below the age of 35. YALI was launched in 2010 to support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across sub-Saharan Africa.

YALI KANO HUB runs a leadership development PROJECTS for members to helps them identify or clarify their core values, beliefs, goals, step out of their comfort zones, strengthen their leadership skills, make meaningful career transitions, and make a difference in their schools and communities.
With the monthly hangout, members connect professionally, personally, build relationship within the community, there are several opportunities for participants to connect with other in a relax, creative and inspiring environment
Members have incredible capacity to champion change in their schools and communities. Through “LET THEM LEAD” the Ambassadors go through an experience that ignites their social consciousness and strengthens their desire to give back to their communities. They are encouraged to identify problems in their institutions and communities and take up opportunities to lead and make a difference.
